Description
Physical Characteristics
- Size: They typically grow to about 2-3 inches (5-7 cm).
- Appearance: They have vibrant blue and yellow coloration with a striking black “eye spot” on their side. Males usually have longer dorsal fins and are slightly larger than females
- Lifespan: With proper care, they can live for 3-4 years.
Habitat and Tank Requirements
- Distribution: They are native to the Orinoco River basin in Venezuela and Colombia.
- Tank Size: A minimum of 20 gallons (80 liters) is recommended.

- Water Flow: They prefer slow-moving, warm waters with plenty of hiding spots

- Diet: They are omnivores and enjoy a varied diet of high-quality pellets, flakes, and occasional live or frozen foods like brine shrimp and bloodworms
